Shards of the Forest offers a collection of glass art that brings the flora, fauna, fungi and landscapes of Aotearoa to your home. Each piece represents a unique piece of the natural world, with inspiration coming from Alex’s backcountry travels and work as an outdoor educator and nature-based facilitator. Alex started dabbling in glass art when recovering from a severe back injury in 2021, designing and creating nature-themed pieces to bring the places she loved so dearly near when unable to visit them. Items are designed and made by Alex in Ōtautahi/Christchurch, with high hopes of fostering human-nature connection by bringing pieces of joy from the outdoors in.

All proceeds from Shards of the Forest go towards reducing participation costs for neurodivergent and disabled people to engage in outdoor recreation & community conservation with Outdoorsa (www.outdoorsa.co.nz).

Enquiries about custom orders (altered existing designs) and commissions are welcome!
