Glass Pūkeko Suncatcher
NZ $98.00
Product details:
Handmade suncatcher using the Tiffany (copperfoil) method, finished with a black patina.
NZ native pūkeko in royal blue, wispy blue/green, opaque white, and ruby red glass, with wire legs and a secure hook.
Measures 12cm in length and 10cm in width; hanging length of 15cm with leather cord.
Packaged with recycled materials to avoid generating unnecessary waste! Can be shipped within NZ and worldwide. Courier is used to ensure your new glassy friend arrives intact.
The inspiration:
These quirky birds have the legginess to thrive in swampy areas, and lead rich social lives! Social groups tend to lay all of their eggs in the same nest, and then work together to raise all of the little chicks as a community. Commonly spotted around sodden paddocks, drainage ditches and squelchy grasslands, pūkeko are more likely to first break into a run when disturbed than put in the effort to become airborne.
Care:
- Made with materials that contain lead. The risk is minimal, but as a precaution wash hands after handling to avoid ingesting particles.
- Best kept inside for longevity.
