Handmade suncatchers using the Tiffany (copperfoil) method.
NZ native kōwhai flowers: varied yellow translucent textured and opaque glass, with a secure wire and hanging loop. Finished with black patina.
Measures 3cm in width and 12cm in length (including the wire). Perfect size for the rearview mirror, or brightening areas where space comes at a premium.
Packaged with recycled materials to avoid generating unnecessary waste! Can be shipped within NZ and worldwide. Courier is used to ensure your piece arrives intact.
The inspiration:
Unofficially the national flower of Aotearoa, kōwhai is commonly found throughout the country and is an important nectar food source for birds. There are 8 species in NZ, and korimako, kererū, tui are common visitors to munch on the leaves and consume the nectar of the flowers.
Care:
- Made with materials that contain lead. The risk is minimal, but as a precaution wash hands after handling to avoid ingesting particles.
- Best kept inside for longevity.
