Hi, let me introduce myself,

I’m a visual artist working from my home studio-come-workshop here in Western Springs, central Auckland, NZ. I am inspired by colour, texture, pattern and form in the natural environment. Common themes in my work include explorations of a myriad of environmental concerns and a fascination for the strong ties that come with connections to "place".

Although I work with many media, printmaking holds the greatest allure for me because it allows me to be spontaneous, experimental and playful in my work.

The printmaking processes I use mostly are linocut, drypoint, copper sulphate etching, collagraph and monoprint. Each of these processes involve many stages to create the images on the plates which are then inked up by hand and printed using my etching press.

The prints listed in my shop are all hand printed by myself using traditional printmaking tools.
Some are unique, one-off pieces, many are limited edition, original prints.
I always use archival quality inks and printmaking papers.

Happily working across a range of media and with a fertile imagination, my work often strays off the beaten track into creating unique artists books, mini dioramas and other sculptural oddities. I will list some of these items here, from time to time, so do pop back every so often to see what I’ve conjured up next.

Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have any questions.
Thanks for your interest,
Toni
