As Albert Einstein said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun."

As a nature and botanical artist I have always been interested in the natural world. I love to draw, paint, knit, crochet, and try out new creative ideas, some of which you will see here!

I gained a BA 1st Class Hons in Scientific illustration and worked as a medical illustrator until we had our children. Later I was commissioned to paint a Clematis and that introduced me to botanical art which I took to like the proverbial duck to water - I had found my niche! I undertook and completed a Diploma in Botanical Art through the Society of Botanical Artists in the UK, and was awarded a distinction in 2015.

Now living in NZ I am surrounded by beautiful scenery, amazing native plants and birds so am never at a loss for something to inspire me! I love the sense of peace and calm that descends when I am engrossed in my work - it can take as much as 100 hours to produce a finish detailed painting, so it is just as well I love it so much!

I hope you will be as inspired by my work as I am when I see beauty in a leaf, shell or flower and know I have to paint it!
