I learnt to weave alongside my Mum lots of years ago, and since then have spent many parts of my life returning to it and learning through doing.
I want to acknowledge all those who have shared their knowledge with me in this journey and all those amazing weavers that came before them. It is a privilege to be able to create with harakeke, and I do so with absolute respect for this special and unique resource and the history of this artform.
I weave at home, amidst raising 4 kids and trying to find time to pursue my other passion which is teaching in Kindergarten. Weaving is the sanity in between all the other parts of my life.

Ngā mihi,

Julia
