Welcome to Clay and Sand, an online store offering unique jewellery made from polymer clay and volcanic black sand from the beaches west of Auckland.

I am Kathryn and I started Clay and Sand during NZ's 2020 lockdowns as a creative outlet. I have been making ceramics for the past 8 years but when the studio closed and I had no access to a kiln, I started to explore the possibilities of air dry and polymer clay jewellery.

I enjoy making small batch handmade jewellery that is fun and I am inspired by the colours and shapes I find around me in nature.

No piece of jewellery will ever be identical due to its handmade nature. This fits with my personal style as I love things that are unique.
