I'm a mixed media artist living in rural South Taranaki. I paint, print and collage to make original works on paper and wood panels. Many works are based on my memories of the New Zealand landscape, particularly the defunct Patea Freezing Works and Cool Stores, and the cool glacial waters of the Hokitika Gorge.

Often symbols appear, such as a mast or sword-like shape, that have no obvious meaning to me until I’ve completed multiple works. I love the serendipity of drips and accidents, and a splash of fluro pink always lifts my spirits. I try to create a little every day, as I believe "moving our hands" is good for our mental wellbeing. My busy day job is managing 7 libraries, a museum, iSite/AA, arts coordinator and overseeing emergency management, so self-care is important to me. When I'm not creating artworks myself, I teach mixed media, gelli printing and art journaling.

I have an Advanced Diploma in Art & Creativity (Honours) from The Learning Connection, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Sociology from Massey University - both disciplines inform my work. I have exhibited widely in New Zealand, and by invitation in Italy. My works can be found in private collections throughout New Zealand and overseas, mainly the USA, Canada and Australia
