Uniquely individual and quirky, these are always one off pieces due to the process involved.

I have been making jewellery for 15 years and have primarily worked in silver gold, platinum and precious stones.I had an epiphany about six months ago and decided to start experimenting in a process which we touched on at University many years ago!! So here is my latest collection in anodised aluminium. It is basically a process which opens the pores of the metal so that i can apply specialist dyes , after which another process is used to close the pores of the metal over and locks in the colour. It is very liberating to be able to create such wonderful colours, and the process means that each sheet of metal that I dye is unique. After the colouring process i saw out different shapes and then I use an extremely sharp engraving tool to scratch through the tough surface colour to reveal the aluminium underneath.Aluminium does not solder like other metals, so i have to hand make rivets and cold fixtures myself, so each piece is made with love and attention to detail by me. I hope you like my collection, you can also see my work on claireallainjewellery.com
