Project Bearwood is all about my quest to go back to simple.

After years of working as a designer in many different disciplines, running my own consultancy and clocking up the air miles with large corporations as clients, I decided to shed it all and go back to my roots.

My days are now spent following my passion, designing and making simple, beautiful items that will stand the test of time. When I’m not fettling bits of wood, I’m out scavenging for past loved native timber in need of a new home. I have swapped my design studio for a tractor barn and combined my computer with a wood mill.

The workshop is nestled in amongst the Southern alps with views over Lake Wanaka. I’m very happy to be here and I’m hoping the passion and love that is put into every object I make is felt by the person that puts it in their home. If that happens, then the project has succeeded.
