Vintage kimono silk dress

Kuro (black) tomesode is the highest ranked kimono in Japan. I used one whole kuro-tomesode kimono for this dress in order to preserve the breathtakingly beautiful pattern on the original kimono. The pattern which starts froma right side of the dress is just like a piece of artwork. The chrysanthemums, pine trees and a Japanese traditional hand drum are hand drawn and hand embroidered, which are all considered symbols of good luck.

This dress is a relaxed fit style but you can mark your waist with a sash belt like a Japanese traditional obi belt to your liking.

Dear customers,
Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are impoirted from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1950s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes and colour fade etc. but they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have. I hope you enjoy and love the beauty of vintage kimono silks including their histories to be embraced.
Thank you for supporting my small handmade business.

*Vintage condition is described by three levels.
Excellent (no major faults), Very good (with some faults but not disturbing) , Good (with some faults that might be disturbing)
