Pottery Pedestal Display Plate
Organically Hand made/Hand Built Pottery made by me at our home in North Canterbury. Due to the nature of my work being hand built no two pieces are the same.
This Pedestal Plate Stand is hand formed with Black Clay and then glazed in a unique glaze that I have made by myself. This glaze works differently on every piece I've used it on and opening the kiln after the glaze firing is always a great surprise to see how it looks. Sometimes it gives a smooth sepia type finish and others, a white bobbled type effect.
This particular plate was dipped in the glaze creating unique markings in how it has reacted with the clay. The base stand was left in the glaze a few seconds longer than a dipped glaze would and it has resulted in some great "bobbling" on the top of the stand and underside of the plate.
It measures (at it's largest points): 23cm wide x 12.5cm high.
Enjoy this piece simply as decor within your home, to burn candles from, as a fruit bowl or maybe even for some favourite trinkets or momentoes.
NB: This item is not food safe for direct contact with food (ie: cakes) - fruit is ok.
