Art journal page - light

This is an unframed mixed media art journal page on Ranger mixed media heavy weight black paper. The page uses paint, water soluble pencil, ink, and Dylusions collage images. The work is 21cmx29cm, with rounded corners. There is no border round the work; the title, date and signature are on the reverse.

Art journal pages are not "perfect" art. The lettering is often hand drawn, and there's a lot of doodling; that's part of the freedom and joy of an art journal.

As with my collages, landscapes and daily faces, art journal pages are a response to my inner world, emotions and memories. Often the quote I use reflects how I am feeling at the time; I describe my art journals as a "place to download my head".

I have an Advanced Diploma of Art & Creativity (Honours) from The Learning Connection. My work can be found in private collections worldwide, and I have exhibited in Italy (2010) and throughout New Zealand.
