This beautiful coat is upcycled from a Male Tsumugi (pongee) kimomo.
The surface is not as smooth or glossy as that of silk woven with raw silk threads and it has a plainer, more casual look.
Pongee fabric is highly suitable for upcycling to coats or jackets because of its strong, supple texture.
You would be surprised with how light and warm this kimono silk coat is. This is the power of pure silk.
The coat has seam pockes and 3/4 sleeves.

Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are impoirted from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1950s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes and colour fade etc. but they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have.
