This gorgeously pretty (and pretty tasty!) red and white heirloom radish has a long pedigree - it can be traced back to before the 1880s in France. It’s fairly mild for a radish, but with a nice crisp spicyness.

Radishes can go in in very early spring, well before the frosts finish. They grow very fast, and thus can be interplanted with slower-growing crops if you wish, but they’re definitely a shoulder-season crop. Enjoy them early, because they’ll just bolt if you plant them in the summer’s heat.

Direct sow in a sunny spot with compost added, about 2-3cm apart, and later thin out every second one to give them plenty of room to develop.

Contents: 1/4 teaspoon of seed
