Big Bunny's Superaguadulce Broad Beans
A flavoursome, hardy, heavy cropper, that can grow to nearly 2m tall, with long pods. Sow anytime between late autumn and winter’s end - you can even do successions if you love them!
Baby broad beans are gorgeous stir fried with a bit of bacon and lemon juice, and the old beans make great bright green hummus and falafel.
Sow 5cm deep and 20cm apart, in double rows 30-50 cm apart. Put sturdy stakes at each end and run strings between as the plants grow, to support them either side. Pinch out the tops of the plants when the pods are about 10cm long (you can eat the tops too!) for an earlier, fuller crop. Regular picking encourages more pods to form.
