A stunning one of kind traditional Matau (Fish Hook) pendant.
It is hand carved from deer antler and features traditional bindings as well as rich natural colours and textures from flame brushing.

It Includes an adjustable braid cord.
Supplied in a traditional style a woven presentation bag.

The Matau is 60mm long (2.4 inches)

The Matau is one of the most powerful symbols used in Māori culture as it represents prosperity, abundance and fertility.
It also is said to provide good luck and safety when traveling over water.
The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life.

The large male deer or "stags" naturally drop their antlers at the end of the mating season every year and grow a new set the following year.
