Amber Fused Glass Daisy Flower Bowl

This fused glass flower bowl is made from a transparent amber glass. The top layer of petals features amber iridescent glass which has a metallic coating which shimmers.. The centre of the flower contains hundreds of tiny balls of glass, surrounded by a larger ring of gold dichroic balls. Each petal is hand cut so no two bowls are the same.

This piece was fired in the kiln twice. The first fusing, at a lower temperature than normal, meant that the petals and glass balls in the centre retain lovely definition whilst still being gently rounded. The second firing used heat and gravity so that the glass flower slumped into a ceramic mold.

The bowl measures approximately 180mm in diameter.
