Hand Carved Wooden Spatulas

This spoon/spatula is carved out of a single piece of feijoa wood collected by an arborist in the neighborhood. Feijoa is a popular fruit in NZ, but its wood is rarely explored by carvers. This is the first feijoa spoon/spatula I've made after discovering its interesting grains and dark colour tone when oiled. It's also a pleasure to work with. The end of the handle is carved with a wing pattern that spirals down to the back of the bowl.

Finished with multiple coats of food-safe oil, it should be hand-washed only. It is sanded to a matte finish and ready for use.
