The Waratah is part of the Proteaceae family that grows in the Southern Hemisphere predominantly in Australia and South Africa. Waratah, comes from the Eora Aboriginal word 'warada' meaning 'beautiful' or 'seen from afar' and is the state emblem of New South Wales, Australia.
