Solid gold & green sapphire leaf ring

A simple bold leaf design, set in the old fashioned way, with a handheld graver and finely tuned muscles and eyes.

I have set this natural teal Australian sapphire in a flush set style, making it very practical, no claws to get caught on things.

I have hand set the sapphire and hand engraved the leaf shape using my graver (a hand held cutting tool which uses my strength and control only, so there is no machine involved.)

The widest part of the top of the ring is 6.7mm and the narrowest part at the back of the ring (the part you don’t see, at the bottom of your finger) is 2.5mm wide

This ring is a size Q 1/2

I make many of these rings but they are all different as I engrave each one by eye.

I love engraving with a graver, the process, the simplicity, the skill and the result. You just can’t get that bright sparkle and hand crafted feel with laser cut or cast or roll printing techniques.
