Blue Plique-à-jour Earrings with Spotty Barrel Beads

These earrings feature a hammer-textured fine silver disc with a tiny window of translucent blue glass. Above the disc is a flameworked spotty barrel bead with black seed beads and a blue agate bead. The hooks are sterling silver.

The earring length is approx 4.8 cm

Plique-à-jour is an enameling technique. Enamel jewellery is made of powdered glass which is adhered to metal in a kiln, in this case it is unsupported, creating a little coloured window on the world. It tends to be fragile and care needs to taken so it isn't scratched or damaged.
