Kotukutuku Fushia Christmas Decoration

This beautiful bespoke decoration celebrates the potential for new things that can unfold from us all, in the hope of things to come with a New Year.
This Kotukutuku flower is finely crafted from New Zealand bright white porcelain that is translucent in the light. The middle stamen are red and silver vintage handmade glass bugle beads, ended in a bright blue glass bead.
The design is based on drawings made of this amazing flower, that in nature starts of as a closed black pendant, opens to have bright green tips to the petals and then transforms into purple, to pink and finally to big ripe juicy berries that our native birds find delicious!
An interesting thing to note are the brilliant blue ends of the stamen that are one of the brightest to be found in nature and can be used as a local pigment and dye.
This would make a perfect gift for someone special or to add to your own heirloom decoration collection. It measures appx 14x 14cm and is finished for hanging on a red and white ribbon.
Each are individually made and vary slightly from flower to flower.
