Honeycomb and bee dangle earrings - fused glass

Fun fact: Bees make a honeycomb out of wax as a place to keep their honey. A worker bee grows wax in its abdomen which appears as little spots. The bee pulls the wax off with its legs and chews it until it becomes soft. The wax is then used to make cells for the honeycomb. The hexagonal shapes of the honeycomb give the honeycomb it's strength.

My honeycomb and bee earrings have been handcrafted from glass powder using a technique called pate-de-verre meaning "paste of glass". The process creates three-dimensional items in glass without the use of high temperature moulds. The glass is fused together at around 700C, creating kiln formed glass.

Light and easy to wear, each earring is individually made, so your earrings are truly one of a kind. Due to it's handmade nature, your jewellery may have small imperfections and irregularities. This is perfectly normal and should in no way affect the function or life of your item.
