Hot Water Bottle Cover - Sandstone

Keep yourself warm this winter, while dreaming of the beach, with this cosy hot water bottle cover.
This one-off item was designed and handknit in New Zealand. The pattern was inspired by the eroded sandstone formations found around the New Zealand coastlines. It is made using a technique called double-knitting, where I knit with two different colours of yarn at the same time, making a knit fabric that is two layers thick rather than the usual one layer. I used two different yarns – one transitioning between shades of grey, and the other in shades of caramel. The mottled sandstone pattern was achieved by changing which of the strands was held at the front, and which was at the back.
100 % wool.
Hand wash only. Dry flat in shade. Do not spin dry. Do not wring. Do not tumble dry.
Note: most of the items in my shop are made from upcycled and reused materials. This item is an exception and is made from all new materials.
