Curve board, balance board

Play board, curve board, fun board, slide……..anything else.
This is a simple toy that has a million and one different uses. I hope this can be used to unlock the imagination and creativity in each child that plays with one. As time passes children will think up more and more ways to use this learning tool.

Proprioception and vestibular development.
Highly developed balance helps children develop spatial awareness. The concept of understanding where things are in space develops only after they understand their own position in space. This is called proprioception. Spatial awareness is critical to both learning to read and write and all high level maths.

The vestibular system is located in the ears and is responsible for maintaining balance. Rocking will help develop a child’s sense of balance.

These boards are made with 3 layers of plywood, the outer sheet is a nice fine birch plywood. Suitable for indoor and outdoor play. Finished with olive oil so more coats can easily be applied if needed. Other oils could be used upon request. Not to be left in the rain of course.

My kids use it as a slide, a surf board, a car jump a tunnel and it really is a good toy.
