The Helsinki beanie is a slouchy unisex winter hat knitted from a luxurious blend of New Zealand merino, alpaca and possum. It has a textured stitch on the main body and gathered detail at the top to give it interest from the back.
It has been finished off with a hand stamped black leather label across the brim.
In gorgeous deep dark plum purple, this super soft winter hat has been hand knitted with the softest wool I have ever found, which is a blend of 75% merino, 15% alpaca and 10% possum. Sadly this wool has been discontinued so these babies are very limited edition.
The knitted rib is a slouchy fit and has a ribbed brim, which means it will stretch to fit most heads. The brim has been knitted on smaller needles than the rest of the hat to make the part over your ears denser and super toasty while you battle the cold.
This beanie was inspired by one of the many beanies in the binge-worthy series, Orphan Black. As someone with long uncontrollable hair on cold winter days, it is the prefect beanie for hiding an untamed barnet under from the wind (especially on winter journey when you need to brave the elements but also look ultra chic).
Handmade in New Zealand.
Care instructions: Handwash hat with care in warm water. Dry flat in shade. As it is made from natural fibre, it will not need washing often.
