Big Bunny's Parsnips
This winter standby is a must for roasts, soups and stews. It can also be mashed, pureed, steamed, fried, and is gorgeous in a gratin.
You need to be in for the long run for this one - plant in early spring for a winter root crop. Space the seeds carefully 3 cm apart and thin when 5-10 cm high. Germination is slow - it can take up to three weeks! Be prepared to get a backup crop in if you don’t see them by then, as they can also be very finicky germinators (fresh seed is a must).
Parsnips are thoroughly frost resistant (in fact don’t harvest them until they’ve been touched by a good frost - this makes them sweeter and more tender).
Contents: 1/2 tablespoon of seed
