In 'Doe Eyed,' I wanted to evoke the stuffy atmosphere of a Victorian drawing room, a domestic space from a bygone era that was both austere and oppressive in its formality.

The rich brown tones and elaborate patterning transform the layers of mdf board used in the original painting into the tactile interior surfaces of furniture and wallpaper - deep mahogany, velvet, flocked upholstery.

The female sitter averts her eyes, a sideways glance outside the frame, while the stag fixes us with its glassy-eyed stare. In this conflation of portraiture and taxidermy, both disembodied heads become trophies to be displayed on the wall.

All my works are printed on Epson Watercolour art paper using archival quality inks - and of course the watermark you see onscreen does not appear on the print itself.

Your print will be unframed, packaged in a cardboard mailing tube and sent via Fastway Couriers, which takes 1-3 days for delivery. I'll mail the package within 3 working days of your payment clearing.
